One of the most inspiring and trying hikes I've personally been a part of, the view at the summit of this journey is more than worth it. Located along the Columbia, it stands as a viewpoint of the entire valley below. Filled with several hazards, especially at night or in bad weather, it is not a casual hike. Be sure to prepare well and bring the necessary equipment.
Located near Tygh Valley, OR, White River Falls is a pleasant surprise to stumble across in the middle of the state. It remains hidden to most travelers, but is very much worth attempting to find. Easy access to great viewpoints.
El Matador State Beach
A quiet yet scenic beach located near Malibu, CA. Hosting some amazing rock bluffs that are reachable by foot, it's one of the best beaches in the southern area of California.
Known by any 90's kid as "The Goonies Rock", this iconic beach is home to the incredible sight of Haystack Rock, and the numerous creatures it hosts year round. Wide open and ready to explore, this beach resides in the northwestern portion of Oregon, and is surrounded by a quiet yet busy seaside town.
Drift Creek Falls
Located in Siuslaw National Forest near Lincoln City, OR, this trails winds back and forth, ending with a beautiful view of the waterfall at the base of an old suspension bridge. Worth the short distance hike, this area is very interactive yet occasionally difficult to find due to some lack of signs. Follow the details in the attached link for further route directions.
Located just outside of Portland, this bridge hosts a park underneath its massive support beams. There you can catch parties of people relaxing, taking strolls along the docks, or hosting events. Definitely a must-visit for anyone interested in the architecture Portland has to offer.
